I am about a year away from cycling to the civilian sector. Right now I would love to start talking with civilian nuclear power plants about future employment. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get the ball rolling??

Go to ANS (American Nuclear Society) or similar conventions to rub elbows with some honchos. You are a little too far away to do much else right now.
