  • Stop Global Whining!!!

$2.2 billion to build, produces only half the power it was designed to produce, requires natural gas for an hour each day to start up the plant prior to sunrise (500 million cubic feet each year), and kills 6000 birds each year (~18,000 to date).

Pop quiz!!! How many many dead birds would it take to shut down a nuclear plant ???

  • caveo proditor,...
keep in mind Ivanpah is a government subsidized "too vaunted to fail" debacle,...

do a word search for "Ivanpah" on these forums alone and the agonizing justification contortions the government has had to adopt for this one are too easily sourced to "pet project must succeed even if it fails",...

wiping out tortoise habitat,...

frying bird species from the fecund to the rarely seen,...

etcetera, etcetera,...

no one anywhere with the spine to simply say "dam the environmental or financial costs, we're just gonna do it, so here's the bill and shut your mouth!!",...

been there, dun that,... the doormat to hell does not read "welcome", the doormat to hell reads "it's just business"
