LaSalle 1 trips offline, unscheduled outage underway

LaSalle 1 began an unscheduled forced short outage on May 27, 2026, ending a 147-day streak of outage-free operation. NukeWorker projections estimate the duration of this event at about 4 days.

This forced outage is the first for the 1,131-MW General Electric BWR/5 unit in 2026, compared to two forced outages recorded during 2025. This is the first unscheduled outage of 2026 for the unit, which had 2 unscheduled outages in all of 2025. The unit had just returned to service on Feb 27, 2026 from a 19-day refueling outage.
