The Center for Energy Workforce Development is expanding its Troops to Energy Jobs initiative to connect military veterans with civilian roles in the energy sector. Former nuclear-trained officers and maintenance personnel are serving as career coaches to help service members translate technical military experience into positions within the power industry.

The energy industry faces a growing demand for skilled labor, including technicians, grid operators, and project managers. Veterans possess transferable skills in electrical systems, mechanical maintenance, and leadership that align with current workforce needs. By bridging the gap between military service and civilian employment, the program aims to address labor shortages while providing stable career paths for departing service members.

Broschak found his lane in the nuclear power field, eventually becoming vice president of engineering at the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operation Corporation and VP of Generation Operations at Consumers Energy.
