The Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have initiated a 30-day public scoping period to evaluate the environmental impact of two proposed SMR-300 reactors at the Palisades site. This review process follows Holtec International's construction permit application for the Pioneer-1 and Pioneer-2 units. Public comments regarding the environmental impact statement are due by July 15.
