The Colorado Springs Utilities Board has approved a long-term energy plan that includes the formal evaluation of nuclear power as a dispatchable generation resource. Staff will now research potential ownership models, partnerships, and power purchase agreements to meet state clean-energy requirements by 2045. This move aims to provide a reliable, carbon-free energy source to supplement intermittent renewable generation.
