Deep Fission signed a 25-year energy purchase agreement with the Great Plains Development Authority for a planned commercial project in Kansas. The contract covers an initial 150-megawatt phase targeted for operation in September 2028, with potential expansion up to two gigawatts by 2031.

The project utilizes the company's proposed Gravity reactor design, which places a pressurized water reactor approximately one mile underground inside a borehole. This deployment method aims to use surrounding rock and water for pressure control and cooling, potentially reducing surface infrastructure requirements for advanced nuclear developers.
