State Representative Ed Butler has formally opposed Governor Bill Lee's support for a proposed Department of Energy nuclear campus in East Tennessee. Butler cited environmental risks and constituent concerns regarding the storage of nuclear waste as primary reasons for his opposition. The federal project aims to establish a facility for uranium enrichment, reactor construction, and fuel recycling with a projected investment of 50 billion dollars.

Rep. Ed Butler of Rickman sent a letter to Gov.
