Clinton
Recognizable by its sky-blue reactor building, Clinton Clean Energy Center’s single nuclear reactor can produce up to 1,092 megawatts (MW) of clean, emissions-free energy, enough electricity to power the equivalent of 800,000 homes. The site's 5,000-acre cooling lake is open to the public for a large range of outdoor activities. The Clinton Power Station and is 5,000-acre cooling reservoir are located on a 14000-acre site near Clinton, Illinois. Clinton's final construction cost exceeded $4 billion, leading the plant to produce some of the most expensive power in the Midwest.
