Diablo Canyon

The Diablo Canyon plant is on a 750-acre site in San Luis Obispo County, California. The construction period for the 2 units may qualify as the longest in U.S. history, with much of the 15 years devoted to studying its ability to withstand seismic activity. The cooling water for the reactors is obtained from the Pacific Ocean.
