Breaker-to-Breaker Runs
9 runs
?
Breaker-to-breaker runs measure continuous operation between refueling outages using a cycle-adjusted threshold (90% of cycle length minus RFO duration). An active streak means the unit has been running continuously since the last refueling with no trips to 0% power.
Ginna has logged 9 breaker-to-breaker runs, continuous stretches from one refueling to the next with no trip to zero power. Its longest ran 546 days, and its runs average 515 days.

Construction began on April 25, 1966. The reactor is a pressurized water reactor. It was first connected to the grid on December 2, 1969, and entered commercial operation in 1970. On January 25, 1982, a steam generator tube ruptured, releasing a small amount of radioactive steam over 93 minutes and leading to a site emergency declaration. In 1996 the original Westinghouse steam generators were replaced with two Babcock & Wilcox units.
