Breaker-to-Breaker Runs
4 runs
?
Breaker-to-breaker runs measure continuous operation between refueling outages using a cycle-adjusted threshold (90% of cycle length minus RFO duration). An active streak means the unit has been running continuously since the last refueling with no trips to 0% power.
Watts Bar 1 has logged 4 breaker-to-breaker runs, continuous stretches from one refueling to the next with no trip to zero power. Its longest ran 514 days, and its runs average 505 days.

About This Site
?
Written by NukeWorker from public records: facts that do not change. Operator, status and capacity come from the live data elsewhere on this page. Sources: Wikipedia: Watts Bar Nuclear Plant.
Watts Bar Nuclear Plant is in Rhea County, Tennessee, near Spring City, between Chattanooga and Knoxville, on a 1,770-acre site beside the Tennessee River. The Tennessee Valley Authority built it.

The plant has two Westinghouse four-loop pressurized water reactors with ice condenser containments. Construction began on both units in 1973 and was suspended in 1985. Work resumed in 1992 on Unit 1 and in 2007 on Unit 2. Unit 1 entered commercial operation in May 1996, and Unit 2 followed in October 2016, the first U.S. reactor to enter commercial operation since Unit 1 at the same plant in 1996.
