The word is that the award has been pushed back to the middle of May.

Who's got some inside scoop on this one?

I'm getting some noise that Energy Solutions may be on the top of the DOE's list for this one.

That noise you heard was correct.  EnergySolutions was awarded the Moab contract through 2011.

So, we know that Energy Solutions has the 4-year contract for 98 million to move the dirt.
We know that Parallax was purchased by Energy Solutions for federal Rad Con services.
We know that S and K Aerospace took over the Stoller contract at Moab for 22 million.
We know that the politicians and the state of Utah are pressuring the DOE to get this thing cleaned up before it gets in the Colorado River.

We don't know anything about when the work is starting or when some jobs are gonna open up.
If anyone knows any info, please give it up.

You can call Parallax at 865-481-8285 but they have to wait for Energy Solutions to request a Rad Con force in Moab.

You can call Energy Solutions 865-376-3147 and talk to their HR Dept.

Bartlett has people there, but that would only be short-term until ES inserts their staff.

Stoller was awarded the new contract for legacy in Moab. I am not sure if they employ any Rad Con folks in Utah. They do at NTS with Navarro. Here is the contact info for Stoller: Phone: 435-259-5131, Contact: Irwin Stewart

S and K Aerospace has a piece of Moab. Rad Con Opportunities? I don't believe so.

  Called and Irwin Stewart is going to retire. Guess the Stoller people will be gone anyway.

The only other thing I might add to that:

The Stoller Legacy Management Contract includes all the shutdown DOE sites.
Fernald, Moab, Mound, etc.

Easy there Kimo Sabi! ARC was a decent company back in the day. Them boys down thar in Georgia used to keep a lotta rental techs working at those nuke jobs. They just lost track of what their core business was... supplying technicians to the nuclear industry, not hydrolasing  the undersides of ocean going vessels with multi million dollar machines. But I digress.

For example: Stoller's Moab team has responsibility for several on-site activities. They perform maintenance of erosion protection measures, storm water prevention plan activities, and health and safety oversight of the field work, which includes operating groundwater monitoring and treatment systems, tailings pile dewatering, and soil remediation of both on-site and nearby vicinity properties.

LM has control and custody for legacy land, structures, and facilities and is responsible for maintaining them at levels suitable for their long-term use.

Preserves and protects legacy records and information;

Supports an effective and efficient work force structured to accomplish departmental missions;

Last I heard was that people should start showing up there in September to kill that pile.....

They sure do want to kill that pile, BUT they won't be moving anything for another year.
There is alot of infrastructure that has to be set in place first.
Maybe this time next year there will be about 100 people here with a dozen techs.
Things take time to move.
Plus, there will be no subs, they only want people that will work for Energy Solutions.
So, check in next year to see what is going on.

I'm guessing no diem since the job is supposed to last 7-10 yrs (what's the latest guess?). No relocation wouldn't surprise me. A lot of places are doing that now. I guess the only way to know for sure is to apply and see if they call you.

I think you should count on no diem and no relocation.
