Evergy's Wolf Creek Generating Station provides internship and co-op opportunities for nuclear engineering students, including those from Kansas State University. These programs allow students to gain hands-on experience at the 1,200-MWe pressurized water reactor while networking with industry professionals and exploring various utility operations across the company's service territory.

These partnerships serve as a primary recruitment pipeline for entry-level talent in the nuclear sector. By integrating academic training with practical utility experience, the program helps address the industry's need for a skilled workforce as utilities look to expand nuclear capacity to meet rising energy demands.

Interns work at Wolf Creek during the summer, while co-op students can take a semester away from school to work at the plant for eight months.
