TRISO-X plans to create 1,140 jobs in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, through the expansion of its fuel facility and research center at the Horizon Center Industrial Park. The company intends to invest hundreds of millions of dollars to support the development of advanced small modular reactors and domestic nuclear fuel production.

This expansion follows the company's receipt of the first NRC license to construct and operate a commercial-scale facility for High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium fuel. The project receives support from the Tennessee Nuclear Energy Fund, which aims to bolster the domestic supply chain for advanced nuclear technologies and increase regional capacity for next-generation reactor fuel fabrication.
