Commonwealth Fusion Systems raised $1 billion in new funding to complete its SPARC demonstration reactor, which is currently 80% finished. The company aims to achieve net energy gain by 2027. This capital supports the development of a future commercial plant in Virginia, which is planned for the early 2030s.
