The Nuclear Regulatory Commission released a proposed rule to overhaul regulations governing reactor licensing, decommissioning, and operational oversight. The 339-page proposal aims to introduce risk-informed approaches and flexibility for both existing and new plants. The agency projects the changes will generate up to $411 million in cost savings over 30 years.
