EM Leadership Surveys Portsmouth Cleanup Progress, Paving Way for Reindustrialization and Energy Future; Hanford's Tank Side Treatment System Sets New Record, and much more!

Department of Energy officials recently toured the Portsmouth Site to review demolition progress while Hanford workers processed a record volume of radioactive waste through their cesium removal system. Meanwhile, Los Alamos representatives updated local stakeholders on increased waste shipments to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant.

These coordinated activities highlight ongoing efforts by the Office of Environmental Management to transition legacy nuclear sites into industrial hubs while managing complex radioactive waste streams. Successful remediation depends on maintaining strict safety standards and coordinating closely with local union labor and regulatory partners.
