Super Script, Subscript, and formatting.

'k, i tried to reply on the "pico" deffinition to have it read exponentially but was unable.  i even used "word" and did the copy/paste thing, to no avail.  two questions....  why doesn't this work?  how do i write in exponent here?

The text box is for plain text, formatting is applied with the formatting button above the box, above the smilies.  There is one that says "sup" for super script, and one that says "sub" for subscript.
