FME 1 Zones on the Refuel Floor

What is your experience regarding the location (at the handrails, the entire floor, 3' off the rails, whatever) of the FME 1 zone on the refuel floor? What plant?
What type of buffer, width, postings, control, etc?

Take a look at this and pause it at 1:08, note the observer with at least three earrings in his left ear on the right side of the screen.
Does FME vary that much from plant to plant that multiple earrings are allowed in the exclusion zone around the SFP or cavity at some facilities?
I have not worked at one that did allow earrings, but I've been DnD'ing a long time and perhaps things have relaxed a bit,....
