Deep Fission aims for USD1.66 billion valuation

Deep Fission has filed for an initial public offering on the Nasdaq exchange with a target valuation of 1.66 billion dollars. The company intends to raise 156 million dollars to fund the engineering, licensing, and construction of its first pilot borehole nuclear reactor. This move signals a shift toward public capital markets for developers of unconventional small modular reactor designs.

The US company is planning to raise around USD156 million in listing on the Nasdaq exchange. It says it "intends to use the net proceeds from this offering for general working capital and corporate purposes, including towards the engineering, research and development, licensing and construction of its first pilot nuclear reactor and related technologies".
