Peach Bottom 2, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Peach Bottom 2 began a routine refueling outage on October 12, 2026, matching its published schedule. The 1,265-MW boiling water reactor entered the maintenance period following an unscheduled-outage-free streak of 823 days.

Constellation Nuclear operates the plant, which commercialized in 1974, alongside 20 other U.S. nuclear units. The unit completed its prior operating cycle with a 99.7 percent capacity factor after running about 96 percent of its typical 732-day cycle. Across the broader U.S. fleet, 94 units showed an 81.3 percent capacity factor with 15 units currently in refueling.

DELTA, PA. Peach Bottom 2 came offline on Oct 12, 2026 for refueling. The unit started on the published date (Oct 12, 2026) with a planned 24-day outage running through Nov 5, 2026.

Going into the refueling, the unit had run for more than 2 years without an unscheduled outage. NukeWorker's start-date projection scores 100% accuracy for this unit.

Across the U.S. fleet of 94 commercial reactors, today's combined capacity factor is 81.3% (15 units currently refueling, 2 units in unscheduled outages), below the 81.8% baseline for this month over the past five years. At the same site, Peach Bottom 3 is running at full power. Millstone 3, Diablo Canyon 1, and Point Beach 1 also began refueling outages within the past week. With the unit offline for refueling, that takes about 1 million homes' worth of generation off the grid.

Peach Bottom 2 is a 1,265-MW General Electric BWR/4 operated by Constellation Nuclear (commercial operation since 1974). The utility operates 20 other U.S. nuclear units.
